Upper St. Clair Theft Suspect Arrested After Police Chase

MOUNT LEBANON (KDKA) – A man has been arrested following an early Thursday morning police chase that started in Upper Saint Clair.

According to police, there had been a recent string of vehicle break-ins in Upper Saint Clair.

Police were patrolling the area and heard a car alarm go off around 3:30 a.m. A neighbor also reported seeing a man run through his back yard.

At that point, police attempted to block off an exit to the Tall Trees housing development on Morrow Road.

The man got in his vehicle and allegedly tried to run over an officer. He continued on Route 19 north into Mount Lebanon, through the Liberty Tunnel and onto the Boulevard of the Allies.

Pittsburgh Police noticed the suspect, who took off running and arrested him a short time later.

The suspect has been identified as Dameian Williams, 42, of Jeannette.

Residents are glad Williams was caught.

"We lock the car, we have the alarm so we're pretty cautious. But, at the same time, it's not premeditated caution, it's just caution for today," Lona Shah said.

Police are now looking into whether or not Williams was involved in the reported break-ins in nearby neighborhoods earlier in the week.
