Soldier Surprises Wife, Daughter With Early Homecoming

BUTLER (KDKA) -- John Krill had planned to surprise his wife, Brittni, with a special homecoming for close to a month.

He found out in August that he'd be coming back home to Butler County after serving as an Army MP at Guantanamo Bay.

"I just can't wait to see her," John said of the anticipation. "I really don't know what I'm going to say to her, truthfully."

The Army reservist met Brittni through the military because she's a soldier, too.

Between both of their deployments, they've only spent about eight months of their two year marriage together.

John left Brittni and then-2-month-old daughter, Julianna, about a year ago for deployment.

But tonight he returned home to plenty of kisses and hugs as he surprised his wife during a family dinner.

"I'm glad we can be a family again," said Brittni. "I've been missing that so much lately."

Now the family is whole once again, even if it is a little earlier than expected.

Brittni says she usually hates surprises, but not this one.

"This was perfect," she said.
