Man Arrested, Woman Hospitalized After Alleged Domestic Dispute

SCOTT TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – A man was arrested following an alleged domestic dispute, which led to a woman being hospitalized Saturday night.

According to police, the incident happened at a home in the 1300-block of Patterson Road in Scott Township.

Carl Antoniazzi, 31, allegedly began punching and kicking a 34-year-old woman as soon as they woke up on Saturday.

These actions continued throughout the day. As one point, Antoniazzi allegedly pointed a gun at the woman's head and threatened to shoot her if she went to the police.

Later, he also allegedly held a screwdriver to her throat and threatened to stab her if she tried to escape.

Police say he also punched and kicked her.

The couple's two children, ages 7 and 11, were home at the time of the incident.

After a family member called 911, police went to the scene and contacted Antoniazzi via a PA system, which gave the woman a chance to escape.

Eventually, police arrested Antoniazzi at the home.

"She is fortunate to be alive and let's just keep wishing the best for her because sometimes with the injuries, we don't yet know, so let's just keep hoping for the best," Rhoda Fleming with the Women's Center and Shelter said.

The woman was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital with a punctured lung, fractured ribs and severe swelling and bruising.

Antoniazzi is now being held in the Lawrence County Jail on $100,000 bond. He is facing a list of charges, including aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and possession of drug paraphernalia .
