Police Investigating Fatal Homestead Shooting

HOMESTEAD (KDKA) - Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed in Homestead early Monday morning.

According to police, the shooting happened near the intersection of 19th Avenue and McClure Street around 3:20 a.m.

When police arrived, they found jerrmie Fields, 39, of Homestead dead in the street.

Police were initially looking for a black 2005 Ford Five Hundred in connection with the shooting.

Police believe the suspect may have been shot multiple times inside the vehicle before being pushed out.

"I just [saw] him last night. We [were] watching the football game together. For that to happen, that's crazy," Chuck Igles said.

Officers did locate a vehicle matching the description Monday morning, but it is not clear if it was the actual vehicle they were looking for.

Police are also reviewing surveillance footage to try and develop leads in the case.
