4th Annual Veterans Court Graduation Held Downtown

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - People gathered Thursday morning for the 4th Annual Veterans Court Graduation.

It is a program that helps veterans who get in trouble with the law get back on track.

Eddie Zorak, of Penn Hills was one of today's graduates. He suffered from PTSD and found himself with a DUI. He said the veterans court program saved his life.

"Don't think you can get off. You cant. They watch everything. If you work with them, they'll work with you and they will get you to where you want to go," Zorak said.

The court helps men and women who served their country get the help that they need if they find themselves in the criminal justice system.

"I think every serviceman and woman should be met at the airport when they come by a caring support team like you have in this program to help people reengage with their lives," Tammy Ryan said.

This year's class was the largest ever and included the first female graduate.

Veteran and former Steeler Rocky Bleier was the keynote speaker.
