Construction Workers Find Box Of Cats Near Dumpster

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A couple of construction workers got a big surprise Friday when they found a box next to a dumpster.

The two were working in Lawrenceville and discovered the box when they were throwing away some debris in the dumpster.

But quickly they realized there was something alive inside and opened the box to find a cat and four kittens.

They took the box to the Animal Rescue League where the felines were examined.

Officials with the Animal Rescue League say all of the cats seem to be in good health. The mother cat is about 2 years old and the kittens are around three weeks.

It's unclear how the cats got there.
