1 Arrested In Duquesne-McKeesport Bridge Crash

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – One woman has been arrested after an accident on the Duquesne-McKeesport Bridge Wednesday morning.

According to police, the accident happened around 12:30 a.m

When police arrived at the scene, they found Marshall Cotton had been ejected from the vehicle and was suffering from severe injuries.

Cotton was rushed to UPMC Mercy Hospital in critical condition.

A woman, Kennedy Billingsley, told police that Cotton was driving the vehicle. Officers detected a strong odor of alcohol on her breath and was exhibiting other signs of inebriation.

Billingsley also told police both her and Cotton had been drinking at a bar in Clairton and were both drunk.

Based on their investigation, police determined that Billingsley was in fact the driver of the vehicle.

She will face several charges, including aggravated assault by motor vehicle and DUI.

Overnight flurries left some snow on the bridge. However, it is not clear whether that may have played a factor in the crash.
