Police Probe Rash Of Shootings In Uniontown

UNIONTOWN (KDKA) -- It's been a violent two nights in Uniontown as gunmen have opened fire in several neighborhoods, not caring what or who they hit.

"Go have your war somewhere else," said one resident. "Don't have it in a residential area.

The latest battle ground for what is being called an alleged ongoing eye-for-an-eye retaliation conflict is the area surrounding Butler and Pershing Court.

The people there didn't want to appear on camera.

They talked about how many gunshots they've heard over the last two nights.

"Too many to count," said one woman.

"I heard the gunfire, like 15 rounds go off," another man said. "I just can't understand it."

Driving in her car, one woman barely escaped getting shot when her vehicle got caught up in the hail of bullets. Her 2-year-old daughter was in the back seat.

"They don't care about hurting anyone, it's just about their feud," said one of the residents.

Other vehicles show where bullets ripped into metal and shattered glass.

A front door got a round in it as well.

While searching the area, police picked up 19-year-old Warare Wikerson on a gun charge.

It's not clear what role, if any, he may have played in the shootouts.

Uniontown Police say they are relying on the public to help them catch the other individuals they believe are involved.
