Furry Tails: Searching For A Forever Home (11/23)

Are you looking to bring a pet into your home? Local animal shelters are a great place to find a furry companion. So, as part of Furry Tails, I'll be doing an ongoing feature on adoptable pets from local animal shelters once a week. If you have room in your heart and are looking to bring a lovable ball of fur into your home, maybe one of these guys is meant to be a part of your family!

Dorothy

Animal Friends

If you're looking for a laid back pet - someone you can cuddle with - then follow the yellow brick road to Animal Friends and meet Dorothy. She's a sweet kitty looking for her forever family.

Animal Friends says:
"There's no place like home. There's no place like home!"

If you look into Dorothy's eyes, you can see the longing.

Dorothy is a wonderful cat who would prefer a warm lap and cuddling over chasing a ball any day. Dorothy was originally adopted from Animal Friends but was later abandoned at a shelter several counties north of Pittsburgh. Luckily, she was able to click her heels together 3 times and end up safe back at Animal Friends. (Really, she got a ride.)

If you are looking for your soul mate, a cat who will love you, and if you have a warm lap and lots of love to give, look no further. Dorothy is the cat for you.

Dorothy has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.

If you can help, come to Animal Friends at 562 Camp Horne Road, Pittsburgh, Pa., 15237 or call 412-847-7002. For more information on how you can adopt any of the pets at Animal Friends, visit their website here!

Georgia

She's outgoing, smart, lively and waiting for a loving forever home. If you think Georgia might be the party girl for you, visit her at the Animal Rescue League!

The Animal Rescue League says:
Georgia is sweet as a peach, and a favorite at the shelter! She came in as a stray, but she's learned so much about living with people that you wouldn't guess it. Georgia is about 5-years-old and weighs 45 pounds, and is quite high-spirited. She loves running in circles and playing with all sorts of toys, so take her out to a yard and see how excited she is about life! She loves people and aims to please, which (along with her energy) earned her a "Life of the Party" rating on the ASPCA's Meet Your Match assessment. However, Georgia is also a great scholar, and has learned "sit and "down," and how to greet people politely since she arrived. It just goes to show that a dog of any age can learn new tricks, as Georgia would love to prove to you!

If you'd like Georgia to be your new companion in fun adventures, come meet her at the ARL soon!

Georgia is spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations and microchipped.

For more information on Georgia and other adoptable dogs, cats, rabbits, and small animals, visit www.animalrescue.org or call 412-661-6452 ext 215.

The Animal Rescue League is located at 6620 Hamilton Avenue in Pittsburgh, Pa., and is open daily.
