PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan)-Steelers linebacker Larry Foote joins the guys on The Fan Morning Show in the studio for his regular weekly segment.
Larry said this one was the most disappointing loss of the season. He said it’s especially difficult to admit that this one was all on the defense.
“This year, defense needs to look in the mirror,” Foote said. “The amount of big plays we have given up this year has been unbelievable.”
Foote says you lose games when you miss tackles and blow assignments and they have been doing that all year.
“Everybody has to chew on this one,” Foote said. “Everyone has put their funk into it.”
One of the few bright spots has been the play of linebacker Jason Worilds and Larry takes credit for his play. He says he challenged him and he has produced.
Foote says the decision for coach Mike Tomlin to go for it on fourth down from the 10 yard line was because he lost trust in his defense. He said that was tough to hear, but a valid thought.
“Going into this past week we were ranked No. 22. Those are unchartered waters,” Foote said. “We have to own it and play better.”
Larry says he would have punted it. He also tells the guys he had to be the Debbie Downer on the sideline when he told the coaches that he saw Antonio Brown step out on that final play.
Larry also had some fun with the guys in the studio today. You can hear every segment here:
