Officials Investigate Skeletal Remains Found In Bellevue

BELLEVUE (KDKA) – County police are investigating the discovery of presumed human bones in Bellevue.

Allegheny County Police say it's now up to the medical examiner's office to help fill in some of the unanswered questions about skeletal remains discovered earlier Thursday.

The surprising discovery was made early in the afternoon in the 4400-block of Ohio River Boulevard. Sources say the remains were partially clothed.

Allegheny County Police, who were dispatched to the scene however, say there is little they can determine about the discovery until the medical examiner completes a thorough examinations of the bones to determine the species.

But the medical examiner's office is saying it could take a little longer because the skeletal remains are frozen, including the clothing.

They're hopeful that clothing could retain some identification.
