Firefighters Respond To 2-Alarm Bloomfield Fire

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Firefighters responded to a 2-alarm structure fire which caused a lot of smoke in the Bloomfield area.

Firefighters there were at least two explosions, caused by oxygen tanks inside the home at 4621 Friendship Avenue.

A man who lived at the home was rescued by someone driving by.

Mike Barto says he was driving by when he saw a half-dressed man come out of the burning building.

"He was out of it, and said my oxygen tank exploded," Barto said.

Neighbors say the whole neighborhood shook with the explosion and fire.

The blaze was so intense, it caused the home to collapse, barely missing firefighters.

Firefighters are investigating the cause.
