1 Injured In Penn Hills Shooting

PENN HILLS (KDKA) – Police are investigating after one person was injured in a shooting outside of a bar in Penn Hills late Wednesday night.

According to police, the incident happened outside of the Sandy Creek Inn on Verona Road around 11:30 p.m.

"Within three minutes every car in the parking lot was gone," Pennsylvania State Constable Mike Sepelyak said.  "I heard approximately 10-12 [shots]."

Sepelyak lives across the street from the bar and saw some people tending to the victim.

"I witnessed two guys trying to pick a gentlemen up off the street," Sepelyak said. "I yelled out the door, I said, 'Has he been shot?' They said, 'Mike, he's been hit."

A man was reportedly shot several times, but was alert and conscious when taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

Several shell casings were found on the ground outside of the bar as well.

The name of the victim has not been released at this time.

No arrests have been made, but police are looking for a dark-colored Chevrolet Impala or Malibu with bullet holes in the driver's side door.

Sepelyak also said there have been numerous fights and roughly three shootings in the past year at the bar.
