4 Injured In Regent Square Accident

REGENT SQUARE (KDKA) - Four people were injured in a Tuesday morning crash involving a pickup truck and a Port Authority bus in Regent Square.

According to police, the accident happened on Forbes Avenue near Frick Park around 9 a.m.

Snow showers created near-blizzard conditions this morning in the area. As a result, the pickup truck lost control, spun out on a bridge and traveled into the path of an oncoming Port Authority bus.

There were only a handful of passengers on the 61A bus, but two were taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

The operator of the bus suffered a hand injury and some cuts from the collapsing windshield. He was taken from the scene for treatment.

The most serious injury was to the driver of the pickup truck. He was listed in serious, but stable condition after being ejected.

The pickup truck was totaled when it was hit by the bus. Damage to the bus was also extensive.

Names of those injured in the crash have not been released.

The road was closed for about two hours, but has since reopened.
