Man In Critical Condition After Overnight Drive-By Shooting

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police are investigating after an overnight drive-by shooting in Pittsburgh's Uptown section sent one man to the hospital in critical condition.

The shooting happened around 1:20 a.m. near the intersection of Pride Street and Fifth Avenue.

According to Pittsburgh Police, officers were in that area when they heard the gunfire and responded to the scene where they found the 22-year-old victim lying on the ground.

Police say he suffered at least two gunshot wounds when a vehicle drove past him on Pride Street and at least one person used a handgun to fire numerous shots from inside the vehicle.

The vehicle then sped away from the scene, and police say they have not yet been able to find it.

The victim was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital for treatment.

He has not been identified and was last listed in critical condition.

Two cars that were parked near the scene were also damaged in the gunfire.

Investigators say they canvassed the area and interviewed people at the scene.

No arrests have been made and police say they have not yet determined a motive.
