Water Main Break Leaves Hundreds Without Service In Beaver Co.

ALIQUIPPA (KDKA) -- Freezing temperatures caused a water main break that's left hundreds without water in Beaver County.

Crews are working to repair the break on Tyler Street in Aliquippa.

The broken water main sent water gushing into the street.

According to the Municipal Water Authority of Aliquippa, 1,200 to 1,500 customers are affected in Aliquippa and Hopewell Township.

Those in need of water can fill up containers at the water plant on Hopewell Avenue.

Officials with the Water Authority say water buffaloes have also been set up at the fire halls in Raccoon and Potter townships.

As of Saturday evening, officials tell KDKA crews are wrapping up and water service should be restored by Saturday night.
