ROSS TOWNSHIP (KDKA) — A man accused of exposing and fondling himself in front of shoppers in the North Hills is facing charges.

The Walmart plaza in Cranberry Township is a busy place.

Police say back on Jan. 5, Stephen Netz, of Brady Township, exposed himself inside the store. According to investigators, he then fondled himself and followed women throughout the store.

Shoppers aren’t taking the incident lightly.

“That’s unbelievable,” said one shopper. “I mean I have my son here. I would be just mortified for him see something like that. That’s ridiculous.”

The distasteful episode was captured on surveillance tape inside the Walmart, but that wasn’t the end of it.

Four days later, Ross Township Police say they arrested Netz inside a Kohl’s department store. He’s accused of touching himself.

“He advised us that this is a regular practice that he does up in Butler County. That he’s well known through Cranberry and lower Butler County for doing this type of behavior,” said Detective Brian Kohlhepp, of Ross Township Police. “I believe they’ve had a number of incidents with him. We’ve only had this one.”

Netz is facing a variety of charges, including indecent exposure and lewdness.

Police continue to investigate.
