1 Dead, 1 Injured In Westmoreland Co. Fire

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – One man was killed when fire ripped through a home in Westmoreland County early this morning.

The blaze broke out around 4:30 a.m. on Louise Street in Allegheny Township.

The Westmoreland County Coroner's Office has identified the victim as 70-year-old Dennis Zidek. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 10 a.m.

A woman was also injured. She was taken to West Penn Hospital with burns.

The house was destroyed and the home next door was also damaged.

There's been word yet on what started the fire.

Allegheny Township Police and the State Police Fire Marshal are investigating.

An autopsy has been schedule for Sunday.
