PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) — Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Steelers Insider Ed Bouchette joined the Cook and Poni Show from the Super Bowl on the eve of the Hall of Fame vote.

The question on the minds of all Steelers fans is will this finally be the year for Jerome Bettis to get the call from the HOF?

“It’s middle of the road,” Bouchette said. “It could go either way. The hang-up for most of the voters on the fence is 3.9.”

Bouchette said he should not be punished for a long career that spanned 13 years, which brings his average down to 3.9. He deserves to be in the hall, but he is not sure it will happen this year.

Bouchette said he is going to try and make his longevity the point of his attack.

He also says that Goodell got lucky at this Super Bowl with the weather and he should not be so quick to pat himself on the back for this going off so well.

Bouchette also talks about the departure of Running Backs Coach Kirby Wilson.
