Kelly O's Diner Transforms To Make Girl's Dream Come True

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – This Valentine's Day, Jaime's Dream Team is making a 12-year-old girl's dream come true, after battling a lifelong illness.

Kelly O's Diner, located in the North Hills and Strip District, is trying to raise money for Sierra Smith.

They're trading in their uniforms to wear shirts saying "Sweet Pudd's Diner."

Smith, nicknamed "Pudd," said she's always wanted to be a restaurant owner, so the restaurant owners are making that dream come true.

"We are partnering with Jaime's Dream Team to give Sierra her own opportunity to own a diner and communicate with customers and walk behind the line and throw down with our cooks," said the owner Seana Lois, "and she created her own beautiful menu that we put up here on our special board and for a 12-year-old, I think it's amazing."

The restaurant will feature the menu created by Smith, including one of her favorite treats: chicken and waffles.

"It was her dream, and how can you say no to a 12-year-old in the hospital, very, very ill, wanting to follow my dream," said owner, Kelly O'Connor.

"Sweet Pudd's Diner" will also be selling Valentine's Day hearts for $1 that will be given to Smith – then half of the proceeds will go to a special surprise for her.

Smith will be at the North Hills location today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and at the Strip District location from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
