Woman Accused Of Stealing Terminally Ill Man's Dog

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Pittsburgh Police are trying to track down a dog that was stolen from a man who is dying of cancer.

Mark Boehler has gone through life with his Siberian husky by his side.

On Thanksgiving Day, Boehler's dog, Thor, was stolen from his yard.

Gisele Paris, 57, is accused of stealing the dog.

For months, Boehler didn't know what happened to Thor until Paris took the dog to Penn Animal Hospital, where the dog had been going for years.

A vet there called police.

Paris was arrested yesterday at her home in the Spring Hill-City View area. She resisted arrest and kicked two police officers who had to carry her into custody.

However, the dog was not found.

Boehler says he knows he can no longer care for Thor, but had already made arrangements for a friend to adopt the dog.

The friend was planning to make sure Boehler saw the dog regularly. Boehler is heartbroken and wants his dog back.

"It's like losing your best friend or a family member. You get so attached to them, especially when he was all I had," Boehler said. "I would just like to see my dog once more."

Pittsburgh Police are following up on leads and hoping to find the dog.

If you have any information about Thor's whereabouts, you should contact Pittsburgh Police at Zone 3.

Meanwhile Paris is being held in the Allegheny County Jail and is facing numerous charges including aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
