Woman, Dog Escape Injury In Parkway West Crash

CARNEGIE (KDKA) - A driver claims ice caused her car to veer off of the Parkway West this morning and flip over.

According to police, the accident happened around 8:45 a.m. in the inbound lanes near Carnegie.

The driver said she lost control and the next thing she knew, she was upside down.

She said she was only traveling about 35 mph at the time of the accident.

"We were both in our little seatbelts thank God, otherwise one of us would have been hurt pretty badly," Marissa Comport said.

Comport said she had to climb out of a window to get to safety.

She and her dog are expected to be okay.
