Man Arrested After Bomb Squad Is Called To North Belle Vernon Home

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police from four different agencies and representing two counties surrounded a Westmoreland County house Friday because of an investigation by the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office into online sharing, downloading and the distribution of child pornography.

The house is located on the 400-block of Fayette Street in North Belle Vernon.

Authorities arrested 32-year-old Aaron Stoneking, who lives there.

But once investigators got inside, they found a lot more.

Two dozen World War II and modern assault rifles and thousands of rounds of ammunition.

The Allegheny County Bomb Squad was called to assist because two de-milled grenades and an unspecified caliber military projectile was found as well.

Rosalyn Christopher, a neighbor, was shocked.

"A black box they took out. No one would tell me nothing," she said. "It is very unsettling because this is a nice neighborhood. Everybody knows everybody. Everybody helps everybody, and there's a lady down there with a baby; she's scared to death. This lady didn't want her kids to see it. She went and picked them up from school. We're all pretty nice neighbors. We help each other. He was pretty quiet."

According to a release from the state attorney general's office, Stoneking is charged with 18 counts of possession of child pornography, two counts of distribution of child pornography and one count of criminal use of a communication facility.

Attorney General Kathleen Kane thanked the Allegheny County Police Bomb Squad, Pennsylvania State Police at Belle Vernon, the North Belle Vernon Police Department and the Westmoreland County Region 13 Department of Public Safety for their assistance with the investigation.

The case will be prosecuted in Westmoreland County by Deputy Attorney General Anthony Marmo of the Attorney General's Child Predator Section.
