1 Dead, 3 Injured In Head-On Crash In Westmoreland Co.

NORTH HUNTINGDON (KDKA) -- A woman is dead and three others suffered significant injuries in a two-vehicle accident this afternoon in Westmoreland County.

According to police, the head-on crash happened just after 4:20 p.m. on Route 30 at Pitt Industrial Diamond in North Huntingdon.

According to the Westmoreland County Coroner's Office, the woman driving the silver vehicle involved has died despite several attempts to revive her at the scene.

She has not been identified.

The three others who were injured were in the red vehicle involved. One of them, a young person between the ages of 10 and 13, was bleeding heavily.

That child was reportedly in the backseat with an older gentleman.

So far, there's been no word on the conditions of that man or the driver, but all three reportedly sustained significant injuries.

They were rushed from the scene for treatment.

There's no word yet on the cause of the crash.

However, early indications from witnesses are the silver car may have traveled into the path of the red car.

The North Huntingdon Police Department is investigating.
