2 Killed In Garfield Shooting

GARFIELD (KDKA) - Police are investigating after two people were shot and killed in Garfield Tuesday night.

According to police, the shooting happened in the 5300-block of Kincaid Street around 11 p.m.

The victims have been identified as 18-year-old Rashad Freeman and 36-year-old Jamarrow Trowery.

Both men were found dead inside of a Cadillac Escalade that had crashed into the back of the Radiant Life Alliance Church.

A man living in the 5300-block of Kincaid street called 911. He had plans with the victims and was walking out of his house to meet them when he heard five gunshots. He then saw his friends' SUV veer off the road, through a fence and down a hill into the back of the church.

Police said the victims were close friends, but it's not clear how they knew the gunman. Investigators are looking into the possibility that the murders are gang-related.

No arrests have been made and autopsies were planned for today.
