Ruptured Gas Line Prompts Evacuations At McKeesport School

McKEESPORT (KDKA) — A ruptured gas line forced the evacuation of hundreds of kids in McKeesport.

Construction crews working outside Founder’s Hall Middle School on O’Neill Boulevard hit a two-inch line with an excavator this afternoon.

All the seventh and eighth grade students were evacuated and sent next door to the high school.

The leak was quickly contained.

No gas was detected inside the building.

The district says classes will resume Wednesday.
