Steelers Sign Backup Cornerback

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - The Steelers are in desperate need of help at cornerback, but the signing of former Houston Texan Brice McCain most likely won't be the answer.

The team announced the signing of the 5'9, 187 pound McCain who was initially drafted by the Texans in the sixth round, 188th overall in the 2009 draft.

McCain has spent all five years of his career with the Texans, appearing in 72 games and making 10 starts.

Despite setting career highs with four starts and 30 tackles in 2013, Pro Football Focus still had McCain rated as the 110th cornerback in the league last year out of 110 total candidates.
