AVALON (KDKA) — The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office reports that partial skeletal remains found Tuesday in the Ohio River are human.

The discovery was made near Avalon.

Authorities say tests done by a forensic anthropologist confirm the remains belong to a man between 30- to 40-years-old.

Investigator say a West View Water Authority Worker found what is being described as partial, skeletonized remains along the river bed.

Forensic examiners were then called in to perform the recovery process.

Police are now trying to identify the remains.

Allegheny County detectives have joined the investigation.

Anyone with information on the case is being asked to contact Allegheny County Police.
