PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) – It has been news in the making for weeks now, as word leaked that Pitt Assistant Basketball Coach Barry Rohrssen was going to be leave the Pitt program for John Calipari’s Kentucky program, and today the official word came down from the Pitt athletic department.

Rohrssen was just in his first season back with the Panthers after leaving the program after the 2005 season to take over the head coaching job at Manhattan.

The now-former Pitt Assistant was known for his recruiting and that is one of the main reasons John Calipari wanted him at Kentucky as he looked to replace one of his top recruiters in Orlando Antigua as he took the head coaching position at South Florida.

Pitt Head Coach Jamie Dixon released the following statement about Rohrssen, “Everyone at Pitt wishes Barry the very best in his future pursuits.”
