Leaf Blowers Recalled Over Laceration Hazard

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Now that warmer weather has arrived, more people will be out doing yard work.

But before you break out those leaf blowers, the Consumer Product Safety Commission is reporting two recalls that you should know about.

Some Troy-Bilt and Remington electric leaf blowers are under recall over safety concerns.

According to the CPSC, there's a possible risk of laceration as the blower's impeller can break and strike the operator during use.

One incident has been reported involving the Remington recall, and 17 incidents have been reported in the Troy-Bilt recall, including 12 injuries.

Serial Numbers ranging from: S1D111XK0001 through S1F152XK2008.
Manufactured between April 11, 2011 and June 15, 2012

Serial Numbers ranging from: S1E131XK0001 through S1E162XK2008
Manufactured between May 13, 2011 and May 16, 2012

Anyone with these leaf blowers is advised to stop using them immediately.
