Baum Blvd. Repairs To Cause Rush Hour Delays

OAKLAND (KDKA) – There are new details on the construction project that caused traffic delays all day Friday in Pittsburgh's Oakland neighborhood.

Sewer repairs are now finished on Baum Boulevard.

Crews had to dig a 25-foot trench to repair the line.

Traffic was detoured all day, causing long backups.

Crews still have to fill the trench and repave the road, but they expect everything to be back to normal by 5 p.m. Saturday.

Some drivers out Friday morning said they had experienced some delays.

"About 15 minutes," said David Mitzel.

Mitzel said he wasn't sure if he would be able to take a detour.

"I'm going to try, but I don't know any other way around, so I'm stuck here," he said.
