Stowe Twp. Shooting Suspect Turns Self In
STOWE TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – Police have named a suspect in connection with a shooting that hospitalized an innocent bystander in Stowe Township Sunday.
According to police, the shooting happened in the Pleasant Ridge housing complex around 9:30 p.m.
When police arrived, they found 60-year-old Mary Johnston suffering from a gunshot wound to the face.
However, she does not appear to be the intended target in this shooting.
Johnston was sitting inside her home when a bullet entered the house. She was taken to a local hospital, where she was last listed in critical condition. Officials say has slipped into a coma and is on life support.
During the course of their investigation, police have identified the suspect as 21-year-old Oneal Olive.
And around 5 p.m. Monday, Olive arrived at police headquarters to turn himself in.
Police believe Olive was trying to shoot someone in front of a neighboring home.
New information in the criminal complaint points to a retaliation shooting.
An unidentified witness claims to have seen Olive firing the weapon. That witness later picked Olive out of a photo line-up.
Olive was questioned for about four hours at County Police headquarters. Two detectives hauled him off to jail shortly before 9 p.m.
