Franklin Regional First Responders Get Special Thank You Dinner

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – First responders were treated to a first-class meal Sunday for their heroic actions during the Franklin Regional stabbing attack.

Local Olive Garden restaurants and other businesses donated plenty of food for the dinner at Mother of Sorrows Parish in Murrysville.

"The community outreach has been so wonderful to all of us, the church doing this in the magnitude they've done it to bring all the restaurants, the Olive Gardens together, means so much to us and to our community," said Murrysville Police Chief Thomas Seefeld.

"To be able to let them know how much we appreciate, again, what they did on that emergency situation on April 9, but also what they do for us each and every day that so many of us can take for granted," said Father William Lechnar of Mother of Sorrows Parish.

Meanwhile, the boy charged in the attack could appear in court in June.

Alex Hribal's lawyer asked to postpone the preliminary hearing several times.

The lawyer says he plans to waive the hearing.
