Brandon Cumpton: Trying To Build On Each Outing
PITTSBURGH (KDKA 93-7 The Fan)- Brandon Cumpton has an 0-2 record with a 4.26 ERA in two starts for the Pirates.
At AAA Indianapolis, though, Cumpton is 4-1 with a 1.35 ERA.
Cumpton told Bob Pompeani that he feels like he's in a good place.
"The bullpens have been going well, my outings have been going well, trying to build on each one and just take away things from my outings and bullpens," Cumpton said.
Pompeani asked if Cumpton feels like he deserves a consistent shot in the majors.
"I feel like every time I go out there, I feel I can hang with them," Cumpton said. "I can't look into that. Whatever game I'm scheduled for next, have a mindset going in I'm going to face whatever team it is. Whatever they decide; if they decide I'm ready and they want to give me a shot, I'm all for it."
But Cumpton said the decision is in the organization's hands.
