WILKINSBURG (KDKA) — Authorities are investigating after two people were shot this afternoon in Wilkinsburg.

The gunfire rang out around 2:40 p.m. and police say the shooting happened on Village Drive while the victims were trying to get away.

It’s believed the gunman was on foot when he fired several shots into a black Ford SUV.

The driver was shot in the back but not hurt seriously, his passenger is in critical condition with gunshot wounds in the chest and head.

So far, there’s no word on what prompted the shooting.

The victims stopped their vehicle less than a mile away on Montier and Hill streets where hey called 911.

The suspects were seen fleeing at Laketon Road and Robinson Boulevard.
