Police: Car Accident Leads To Road Rage

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police say two drivers got into a car accident, but afterwards one man took it to the extreme and started throwing punches.

The accident happened around 8 p.m. Thursday night in Squirrel Hill.

Police say the cars crashed at Forbes and Murray Avenue.

That's when one of the men allegedly got out of the car and started punching the other.

Witnesses say they watched in horror and the man just didn't stop.

Meggan Hughes was eating dinner with her family when the accident happened.

"No one else was doing nothing at all. Everybody was sitting there with their cameras and everybody was like "Oh my God" and doing nothing to stop it and I had to do something because he was getting beat for no reason," Hughes said.

One person was taken into custody at the scene, but he was later released.

Police say just because he was released he could still face charges of simple assault, reckless driving, following too closely and disorderly conduct.

"He looked crazy too, he had this look in his eye," Hughes said. "He said nothing at all, he was just beating him."
