Lottery-Winning Cop's Wife Charged In Prostitution

RANKIN (KDKA) - Matthew Brown and his wife, Jennifer, are all smiles in the picture of them holding their giant million dollar Powerball lottery check.

But they may be using some of that money in legal fees.

Jennifer Brown, 39, was charged last June in Moon Township with promoting prostitution and criminal conspiracy.

The arrests happened at the Marriott Courtyard in Moon Township. Also named in the criminal complaint, her husband, part-time Rankin Police officer, Matthew Brown.

Last week, after confirming one of his officers hit the lottery, Rankin Police Chief Ryan Wooten was all smiles. But on Friday, he wasn't talking.

The Browns, who live in West View, were also silent. In fact, two West View police officers were in front of the couple's home to keep the media away.

In the criminal complaint, Jennifer is accused of being a manager/scheduler for the prostitution operation known as 69Entertainment.com.

Matthew Brown is listed as a driver.

"Those are the allegations, but that is inaccurate," the couple's attorney David Shrager said. "She did work as a secretary for a booking agency. They booked bachelor parties. She never went to any of those residences. Had no control over what people did or didn't do there. I believe she did that mostly from home."

Meantime, sources say Officer Brown has been taken off the street in Rankin.

"That is not my understanding. I have not spoken to anyone from Rankin, my understanding is that is inaccurate," said Shrager.
