MCKEESPORT (KDKA) -Allegheny County police are looking into an early Wednesday morning shooting in McKeesport that left one person injured.

According to police, the shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the Hi View Garden Apartments on Sixth Street.
Shell casings were found scattered through the parking lot. It appeared that about 18 shots were fired.

Once on scene, police found a 20-year-old man, shot multiple times. However, the most severe injury was a gunshot wound to the abdomen. A medical helicopter was called in and the victim was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital. His condition is not known at this time.

Officials said they do not believe the victim lived at the apartment complex.

County homicide detectives are now coordinating the investigation with McKeesport Police.

Early after the shooting, there were initial reports that police were working with a vehicle description, possibly a blue Ford Mustang. Details about how that vehicle was involved were not released.
