1 Killed In Route 30 Crash In North Huntingdon

NORTH HUNTINGDON (KDKA) -- A crash along a busy road in Westmoreland County this afternoon claimed the life of a teenager.

The accident happened around 2:40 p.m. along Route 30 north in North Huntingdon near Penn Lincoln Memorial.

The view from NewsChopper 2 showed a minivan or SUV perched on the guardrail and the airbags deployed.

There's no word yet on what caused the accident.

The Westmoreland County Coroner's Office and multiple emergency crews were called to the scene.

The coroner's office has identified the suspect as 18-year-old Matthew Kellermann of North Huntingdon.

Route 30 was shut down so officials could investigate and clear the scene. The part that was closed down has since reopened.

North Huntingdon Police continue to investigate the crash.
