Greg Brown: Hesitant To Break Up Top Of The Order

PITTSBURGH (KDKA 93-7 The Fan)- Pirates broadcaster Greg Brown joined Colin Dunlap Saturday morning to talk about the Pirates.

The Pirates have scored a combined 12 runs in two games with Gregory Polanco, Starling Marte and Andrew McCutchen hitting 1-2-3 in that order. Brown doesn't know how the Pirates could move away from that when Josh Harrison or Neil Walker returns to the lineup.

"I don't see how Clint Hurdle disrupts this. When Josh Harrison is ready to play, do you put Harrison back in the lead-off role now? When Neil Walker is ready to play, do you put him in the two spot? I'd be really hesitant to break up this 1-2-3 punch that the Pirates have going right now," Brown said.

Brown said that while it's still early, he's very excited by what he's seen from Polanco and the current outfield.

"Probably should slow it down a little bit, but when he goes five-for-seven (Friday) night, hits a game-winning home run, his first home run in the big leagues and it's a track meet on the bases (Friday) night, it's hard not to (think) a little bit about where these three rank in terms of outfield play in recent Pirate memory," Brown said.
