Local Schools Closing As Enrollment Declines

PITSBURGH (KDKA) – Several local schools are closing because of declining enrollment.

The Kiski-Area School Board voted to close Laurel Point Elementary at the end of this school year. Bell Avon and Washington Elementary are also closing.

Employees will be transferred to other schools.

And in Beaver County, St. John the Baptist Parish in Monaca is closing the church’s elementary school.

There are only about 100 children enrolled for next school year.
