Get Marty: Man Tired Of "Highway From Hell" Outside Of His Home

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Harry Brownfield calls the stretch of road that runs in front his house the "Highway from Hell."

Brownfield reached out to KDKA and Marty Griffin hoping for a Get Marty Investigation.

Brownfield says trucks and cars have crashed through the fence in front of his Jefferson Hills home five times.

"Yeah, I'm afraid someone could spin out and come through the side of my house," says Brownfield.

Brownfield's home, at the intersection of High Road at Ridge Road, is on a bend.

"It's dangerous," he said. "I had 'em come through here. I had trucks go around the bend and their tires are squealing."

Brownfield says the big trucks are one problem, a stop sign drivers ignore is another concern.

Jefferson Hills Police Chief Gene Roach told KDKA-TV he has been looking into the problem. The chief says he has officers on patrol in the area.

Roach says he has officers writing traffic tickets when necessary.

He also tells KDKA-TV Get Marty reporter Marty Griffin he has been promised by PennDOT the size of the trucks on the road will be restricted.

"I hope this works, I've been promised changes before," says Brownfield.
