Woman Accused Of Throwing Hot Grease On Boyfriend Turns Self In

NEW CASTLE (KDKA) -- A Lawrence County woman accused of throwing hot grease on her ex-boyfriend during a domestic dispute last week turned herself in to police Thursday.

Police say Shawntay Thomas, 37, and Jasper Williams III, 49, got into a fight at a home in New Castle.

Williams went outside to cool off, but police say Thomas followed him with a cup of hot bacon grease and threw it on him.

"It was a domestic dispute between me and my ex, and things got out of control," said Thomas. "I was threatened, I felt."

The couple has a 6-year-old daughter.

Williams was burned on his neck, face and chest. He was taken to Jameson Hospital for treatment.

He is expected to recover.
