This summer, one area ranch is opening its doors to kids to teach them more about where their food comes from and to get hands-on experience with farm animals.
The Blue Ribbon Farm’s Little Farmers Day Camp is hoping that interaction can sprout into something big.
Kids will learn how to care for a garden, collect eggs and prepare dishes made from goods grown on the farm.
The experience also includes feeding a newborn calf, riding a pony and caring for a host of animals including goats, ducks, chickens and baby pigs.
The farmer’s camp sessions run through July in Aliquippa and are open for kids ages 4 to 13.
