Woman Caught On Camera Allegedly Assaulting Her Child At Walmart

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A Scott Township mother is accused of assaulting her three-year-old son inside a local Walmart store.

Scott police say a loss prevention officer was the one who saw the assault, and alerted them.

The loss prevention officer said he followed 41-year-old Dinette Filmer through the store and watched the alleged abuse continue.

Police say Filmer dragged the boy across the floor, then held him down with her knee on top of him.

At one point, she is also accused of punching him in the ribs with a closed fist.

The entire incident was caught on store video surveillance.

The officer followed Filmer to the store's parking lot and got her license plate number.

Police went to her apartment in Carnegie and filed charges against her.

Scott Township police say at the time Filmer appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Filmer will receive a summons in the mail charging her with simple assault, and endangering the welfare of a child.
