Chrysler, GM Issue Recalls Over Ignition Switch Problems

Chrysler is recalling nearly 700,000 minivans and SUVs because of an ignition switch problem.

This recall affects 2007 to 2009 Dodge Journey SUVs and Chrysler Town and Country,and Dodge Caravan minivans.

The company says rough road conditions -- like driving over potholes -- may cause the vehicle's key to slip out of the run position.

Also, there are more problems for General Motors.

The company is adding another 8.2 million vehicles to its long list of vehicles that have been recalled because of an ignition switch problem.

In addition, the wiring and fasteners may be faulty.

Five separate recalls have now been issued because of the ignition switch issues -- bringing the number to 17.1 million vehicles.

Worldwide, the company has recalled nearly 30 vehicles.
