Neighbor Arrested After Man Fatally Stabbed In Brookline

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Officers are investigating a fatal stabbing in Brookline.

It happened around 11:15 a.m. in the 2300-block of Pioneer Avenue.

Police say a man was found stabbed multiple times on the floor of the home.

Saturday evening, police arrested 44-year-old Christopher Richardson, their next door neighbor.

Police say they found the man after Richardson called 911 from a nearby gas station.

Richardson is technically the man's next door neighbor, but had been staying in the victim's basement temporarily.

Richardson allegedly told police he wasn't able to get into the house, but was able to see the victim laying on the ground unresponsive.

Richardson has been charged with homicide and robbery.

Homicide detectives are investigating the incident.

This is the second stabbing incident in Brookline in roughly two weeks.

Residents say trouble has been brewing in the area and they're fed up.

June 20, a man was sent to the hospital after he was stabbed near Gordon's Restaurant on Brookline Boulevard.

"I saw a lot of blood, and him lying on the ground and people trying to put pressure on his wounds," said Kerri Evans, a witness.

Witnesses said the man was stabbed during a fight out on the street.
