Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership Celebrates 20 Years Of Business
PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio1020 KDKA)- The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership is celebrating 20 years of business.
Jeremy Waldrup, President and CEO of the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership joined Bill Rehkopf on the KDKA Afternoon News to talk about the events taking place downtown all week long.
Festivities kick off Tuesday night with a food and drink “crawl” featuring seven downtown restaurants.
“We are starting in the Cultural District and finishing in Market Square,” Waldrup said. “We have Perle, back from a fire they are opening up. Tonight’s their first night back in operation so we will be ending the festivities there.”
Other events range from a mid-week music concert to a Christmas in July party. There is something for everyone downtown, Waldrup said.
People are familiar with the famous views of the steel city, but what about some of those hidden gems? There are All Access Downtown Tours that will take people through various buildings downtown and show you some amazing behind the scenes views. Unfortunately though, all the tours are sold out. But Waldrup has a feeling it won’t be the last time you can give the tours a try.
“The tour of the US Steel tower, along with our public art tours and extreme landmarks tours, have all been taken. Given the popularity of this, I think you will be seeing this pop-up again, so we encourage folks to look on our website, we have a free newsletter that goes out every week that talks about opportunities like this and a whole host of others,” Waldrup said.
