1 Man Killed In Allentown Shooting
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed in Pittsburgh’s Allentown neighborhood Wednesday evening.
According to police, the shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. behind a duplex on Amanda Street.
The victim was identified as 29-year-old Victor Robinson. Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Our officers were on the scene about a minute after being dispatched and we found a black male who was fatally shot behind the home here near this intersection,” said Sonya Toler, of Pittsburgh Public Safety.
There’s no word on what prompted the shooting or if there are any suspects. Neighbors say they heard several shots fired.
“I did get the call shortly after 9:30 last night. He had said there was tape all around and he had heard gunfire, which is very scary,” said neighbor Sarah Coyne, whose roommate called following the shooting.
The victim’s sister, Quiana West, told KDKA’s Heather Abraham that her brother was moving to Florida with his girlfriend and only had a few items left in the duplex on Amanda Street.
West said that Robinson sold vehicles for a living that he would buy at auctions. Coyne says Robinson was also renovating a house cattycorner to his duplex and planned to sell or rent it.
Robinson, according to family, leaves behind two daughters and two sons.
An autopsy is scheduled for some time on Thursday.
