Does It Really Do That? EnduraCool Instant Cooling Towel

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - The hot and humid days of summer have many of us looking for relief.

It's not always possible to camp out in air-conditioned comfort. However, EnduraCool's Instant Cooling Towel claims it can be your portable air conditioner.

A representative in the commercial says it's, "quite simply the fastest, most effective way to cool you down."

Athletes created and market the cooling towel. They say it's easy to use; just wet, wring and snap your way to cool comfort in minutes. They also say they're great for anyone who is active in the heat.

KDKA-TV morning anchor/Does It Really Do That? reporter Jennifer Antkowiak teaches fitness classes, and she took the EnduraCool towels to an evening class at the Wilkins Elks 577 in Turtle Creek.

She said it's usually cool when they walk in, but it doesn't take long before things heat up.

The makers of EnduraCool say their product can be a big help to those who want a good work-out, saying the more comfortable you are, the longer and harder you'll be able to push yourself to get the most out of exercise.

How does it work?

The commercial explains, "The fiber weave technology of the towel is actually regulating the water that's on the inside, so it's treating it kind of like an air-conditioner, and within seconds you get a cold towel."

The class participants were looking forward to give EnduraCool a try. Right away, they liked the light weight and soft feel of the microfiber towel. The directions for activating it are easy: just get it wet, wring it out, and give it a few snaps.

Although it starts to cool down right away, the instructions say to wait a couple of minutes for the effects to really set in.

"It's cold! It's cold," the testers said.

Jen and the group tried it with another towel, and it was cool too. In fact, both stayed cold even after several minutes and a lot of handling by hot, sweaty people.

The towels stay chilled for hours, and can be re-activated by wetting, wringing, and snapping as needed.

EuroCool towels are machine washable and have a UPF of up to 45 to protect you from the burning rays of the sun.

Our testers thought they could use them for walking and gardening, watching outdoor sports, and more.
